Solid Waste Services will collect garbage, recycling, yard or scheduled bulk waste as regularly scheduled the week of July 3 to July 7. The Town of Cornelius contracts with Waste Pro to provide solid waste collection services to its residents. Currently, over 9,000 households in the Town of Cornelius receive curbside recycling services. Bulky Waste Collection
Solid Waste Services in Charlotte will not be collecting trash, recycling, yard waste, or bulk items on Monday. Outside regular business hours, CharMeck 311 callers can report water, sewer, storm water and animal issues via an automated service that dispatches assistance. Residents can also submit service requests online 24 hours a day or access dozens of city services by downloading the CLT+ mobile app.
Garbage is collected once a week on your scheduled collection day. Residents are provided 96-gallon collection carts. The red collection cart is for single stream recycling and the black container is for garbage.
If yard waste exceeds these specifications, no service will be provided. Leaves and grass clippings must be bagged in clear bags or other bags left open so the driver can see the contents. Bags must weigh less than 50 pounds each, with a 20 bag limit per week. (Drivers can spend no more than 20 minutes per home collecting yard trimmings). Branches must be cut to no more than 4 feet long and 5 inches in diameter. Stack limbs in small enough piles that an individual is able to handle.
